Ann-Kathryn So started her legal career with the firm in 2006. After practicing law for six years, she left to serve nine years with the federal government in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), managing significant and classified matters as a liaison with the Department of the Navy, the Department of Homeland Security, and other US Intelligence agencies. In 2018, she was honored as the NCIS Civilian of the Year for her Intelligence Analysis.

Ann graduated from The George Washington University. She graduated from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she was active in the Moot Court Association, Black Law Students Association, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Society. She and her teammates advanced to the quarterfinals of the NBLSA Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition.

While an undergraduate at The George Washington University, Ann was a member of their NCAA Division I collegiate rowing team and continued in the sport as part of the Capital Rowing Club’s Competitive Rowing Program. Ann enjoys running and has participated in the Marine Corps Marathon, the Honolulu Marathon, and the inaugural Marine Corps 50K. She and her family have lifelong ties to the District of Columbia and the greater metropolitan area, and she looks forward to continuing to serve the community.

Ann rejoined the firm in February 2020, and was named partner in January, 2021. Throughout Ann’s legal tenure, she has focused on labor and employment law for federal, state, and local government employees. She is excited to be back at the firm serving public employees.
